betti cad reach
Which ways a cutter reaches a STEP, IGES, JT or Parasolid part's faces from: the fewest directions, as setups of a three-axis machine, that reach all any does; faces reached from none; faces deep below the stock through a narrow way.
Usage
betti cad reach [flags] in.stepIn a script this is cad.reach(…), its flags as keywords; for coding agents, the tool cad_reach.
Examples
betti cad reach part.step
betti cad reach -pocket-ratio 3 -map reach.vtu part.step
betti cad reach -json part.step > reach.jsonFlags
| Flag | Takes | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
-map | text | none | write the part tessellated, each triangle with its setup (1 on, 0 for none, of its first point) and the most depth to width of its points, to this file (.vtu, .msh and .ply keep them) |
-pocket-ratio | number | 4 | the most a face may lie below the stock's top, in diameters of the widest cutter that fits down to it |
-spacing | length or number | 1% of the part's size | about how far apart the points judged lie, such as 0.5 or 1% |
Output flags
| Flag | Takes | Default | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
-json | switch | off | print the result as JSON |
-q | switch | off | print nothing but errors |
-skip | names | none | switch off steps of the work by their names, separated by commas, as the built-in help lists them |
-v | switch | off | also show the stages of each step, and their times |
