Access and licensing

Core commands are free and need no sign-in. Every other module is granted on request, free for non-commercial use.

A chain run with betti run needs the modules of the steps in it.

Sign in and ask for a module

Sign-in goes through licensebox. Sign in once on each machine, see the modules your licence grants, and ask for more with a short note on what you need them for:

betti access login
betti access
betti access request shape mesh -note "meshing castings"
betti access requests

To ask in a browser instead, betti access -web prints a private link to request modules on the web, valid for 15 minutes. betti access status shows the licence kept on this machine, and betti access logout signs out. All flags are on the access command page.

If a command needs a module you do not have, it says so and tells you how to ask for it. A licence is used on one machine at a time: signing in on another moves it there.

Offline use

Betti checks the licence while it runs. Without a connection, the modules you were granted keep working for up to 24 hours after the last successful check; connect again to renew. Core commands never need a connection.

Licence

Betti is closed source and licensed, not sold. The released executables are free for non-commercial use: personal use, teaching, and academic research whose results are not sold. Meshes and other results you make with them are yours.

Commercial use (use by or for a business, in paid work, in producing goods or services that are sold, or in commercial research) is not licensed, and there is no commercial offering. Because of the author's employment and possible conflicts of interest, a request for use beyond these terms is considered only rarely, case by case, and most will be declined. If your case is exceptional, write to vijai@meshing.engineer.

The full terms come with every download and are printed by betti license; they govern over this summary.
