betti dfm check

Check a part for a manufacturing process, named by -process. A STEP, IGES, JT or Parasolid part works for any process; a closed mesh for moulding, casting and printing.

dfm module Granted on request: see access and licensing.

Usage

Shell
betti dfm check [flags] in

Machining: holes too deep, flat-bottomed or with an odd drill point, entering through slanted faces, too close together or to the outside, a pocket or the floor; inside fillets too small, too many fillet radii, faces no cutter reaches, deep narrow pockets.

Sheet metal: the sheet's thickness and bends found, then bends too tight for the material; holes, slots, notches and webs too narrow; corners too sharp; holes and slots too near a bend; missing reliefs, short flanges; the flat pattern.

Injection moulding, die and sand casting: the nominal wall, then walls too thin or thick for the material, thick sections, too little draft along the pull, undercuts, sharp inside corners, small inside fillets.

3D printing (am-fdm, am-sla, am-sls, am-lpbf): the build direction, then thin walls, overhangs needing support, narrow gaps, small holes and pins, voids trapping resin or powder.

In a script this is dfm.check(…), its flags as keywords; for coding agents, the tool dfm_check.
